Location:-95 kms from Jaipur, On Jaipur-Agra Road

Abhaneri is a little town village, located at a distance of ninety-five km from Jaipur, on Jaipur-Agra road. The place is well-liked for the astonishing 'Baoris' (step wells) and Harshat Mata Temple.

The village of Abhaneri is considered to be well-known by the King Raja Chand. At first Abhaneri was called as Abha Nagri, which way the city of vividness, but due to mispronunciation of the term, it is varied to the present name.

In the present day, this city of brilliance is in ruins; still it attracts tourists from across the world. Abhaneri is outstanding for 'Baoris', which are the sole invention of the natives for gleaning rain water. Amongst the other step wells, Chand Baori is the most well-liked one. This prodigious step well is located in front of the Harshat Mata Temple. An annual fair is also planned in honor of Harshat Mata which continues for 3 days.

Chand Baori is one of India's most mysterious and biggest step wells. The enormous tank with fragile carvings is surely charming to the eyes.



Step wells are the unparalleled concept of India. These large tanks were used as cool places of resort and water source in parched days. It was a rite to rinse hands and feet before visiting the temple. Adjacent the Chand Baori, there is a temple, consecrated to Harshat Mata. This temple serves as the further tourist attraction of Abhaneri.

Set up during the tenth century, the wrecks of the temple still vaunt of the architectural and sculptural manners of ancient India. Furthermore the temple is saved by the Archeological Department of the Government of India. People worship the goddess every day with full idolatry. Moreover, visitors from close by village enjoy visiting this temple to present their sincere devotion.

Harshat Mata is believed to be the goddess of pleasure and bliss. As per the notions, the goddess is always happy, who adds her joy and pleasure to the entire village. The temple is worth visiting for its remarkable architecture and that too, which belongs to the gothic India. Abhaneri has a magnificent past and this hoary appeal of the place, attracts tourists to its threshold, from all over the earth.
