The enormous palace complex inhabits one seventh of the walled city of Jaipur . Initially constructed by Maharaja Jai Singh II of the Kachhwaha clan of Rajputs, additions have been made to the palace complex by lots of his successors.
The complex is alienated into a sequence of courtyards, sprawling gardens and buildings. It is home to quite a few palatial structures akin to the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Badal Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple and the City Palace Museum .
