History of Agra

History of Agra is thoroughly obvious from the abundant historical monuments in and around the city. However the history of Agra city is associated with the Mughal dynasty, various other rulers also contributed to the affluent history of Agra. Agra was established by Sikandar Lodhi in the 16th century. Babur (initiator of the Mughal dynasty) also resides for a little bit in Agra and initiates the conception of square Persian-styled gardens here. Taj Mahal

Agra is well-known as being home to one of the seven wonders of the world- the Taj-Mahal. Agra Fort

Built by the great Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D. the fort is a magnum opus of design and creation. Itmad - Ud Daula

To the north of the fort and athwart the river Yamuna are quite a few superior examples of mughal architecture. Chini Ka Rauza

The crypt of Afzal khan, the persian poet and minister at Shah Jehan's court gets its name as of the intensely colored glassy tiles that adorn it, lies just 1km beyond itmad-ud-daula.

Sikandra Fort

12km the tomb of Akbar, begun by the emperor himself and concluded by his son, Jehangir. This opulently festooned structure is a quaint mixture of styles.

Radhaswamy Satsang, Dayalbagh

This exceedingly ornate monument to the initiator of the Radhaswamy satsang has been in the making for several years and is at rest being worked upon. It is wholly in marble, upon which every manner of adornment has been applied.
